There are countless web sites
in the net. Competition is tough and it can be quite difficult to drive traffic to your site. Traffic generation is crucial to your e-business marketing campaign. To survive, you need to generate more traffic and interest to your website. Here are three effective methods for doing just that.
Your traffic represents your prospective customers. The more traffic you generate, the more chance there is for people to buy your product or your service. You need to create an effective marketing plan in order to create interest among people.
There are many ways to generate traffic to your site. However, you don’t want to generate just any traffic, your aim should be to generate free targeted traffic. You should consider employing different methods for generating targeted website traffic. Do not limit yourself to just one method. The following are three free site traffic generation methods that you can try.
— Step 1: Write and submit articles
Everyday, people would visit Google to look for information they need. By writing highly informative, unique and interesting articles and submitting these to high-traffic article directories, you will be read and your articles will become your website’s advertisement.
People who found your articles informative and helpful would go to your website for more information. If you continue along this vein – writing and submitting more articles –
more people would trust you and your business over time. Your articles would generate much interest that it would be difficult for search engines to ignore them and your website.
In time, your website will appear in search engine results every time a prospective customer searches for a product or a service that you could provide. At the very least, your articles will appear in these search results and they will lead search engine users to your site.
When you submit articles to different websites, make sure that your articles are fresh and interesting. Add a link to your website as well. Remember that your purpose is to generate traffic to your website. Be mindful of keywords that most people would use when searching for a product, service or any information when you write these articles.
— Step 2: Use viral marketing techniques
This type of marketing, if employed effectively, would generate more targeted traffic than you thought possible. Viral marketing involves using viral videos which are very effective forms of advertisement. People just love passing on videos to others. If you can just make videos that people find worthy of forwarding to their friends (maybe because they’re hilarious, or super silly or wonderfully odd), then your company can become known to a lot of people. Of course, your videos must have your company information so people will know where to find your site.
Viral marketing can also take occur through viral e-books and viral software.
Viral e-books are informative guides that people find good enough to forward to their friends. Viral software refers simply to applications that people find useful enough to refer to their friends.
People generally pass on by mouth their positive reaction to any business, product or service. This is how the viral aspect of this type of marketing takes effect.
— Step 3: Optimize your site for search engine queries
You must endeavor to make your site get recognized by prominent search engines to be relevant in your keyword category. The more relevant your site is (according to the search engine ranking algorithms), the better your search engine ranking will be and the easier you will be to find through search engine queries. Therefore, make sure to undertake search engine optimization.

1. Submit to Search Engines: This is the first step towards increasing your website traffic. Don’t wait for the search engines to find your site. Go ahead and submit it to them voluntarily. Submitting a sitemap would be better – this will encourage the search engines to examine your site more often. Visits by the Search Engine Spiders are a key way to increase website traffic.
2. Link Exchange: The search engines count inbound links when ranking your website. Look for free link exchange programs. You can increase website traffic by including relevant links to your site – so seek out sites with similar or complementary products/services. You can also use free blogs as lead generation tools to help increase website traffic. When you make a post on a blog, include a link to your site URL, using anchor text. Blogs are a direct means to increase website traffic for free! Free classified ads that allow links to your URL are also good ways to increase website traffic.
3. Article Marketing: A relatively new but powerful (and free!) traffic booster. Publish articles on Ezine and Article Directories. Articles create interest in your website as you are seen as an expert. Having links to your URL utilizing anchor text increases your number of relevant inbound links.
4. “Tell a Friend” Scripts: Include a “tells a friend” script on your website. This will enable your customers to pass your website (and links) around. You’d be amazed at how well this works. Someone finds your site interesting, passes it to a friend, so on, and so on. You get the picture.
This directly helps increase website traffic, and you build your customer base! A favorite technique of Internet business owners and it’s free!
5. Hold a Contest: Use your website’s auto responder as a means to hold a contest of some type. For example, if they sign up for your newsletter, they get a chance to win free e-books Or one months’ worth of web hosting (or one of your products). Again, this is an excellent way to increase website traffic and build your opt-in list, all at the same time!
6. Press Releases: This is one of the most overlooked ways to increase website traffic. The subject can be as simple as announcing a new product that you offer, or a new hire that you’ve made. As long as it’s newsworthy, you can distribute your press release to the online press release companies and have it picked up by the major search engine’s news categories (for example, Yahoo! News). Do you know how many people read these things? Thousands! An excellent way to increase you website traffic. Totally free!
7. Affiliate Program: Do you sell a product or e-book? Then you need to create an affiliate program. This is how it works: you offer to permit sale of your product on other Internet owners’ websites, in exchange for giving them a portion of the sale (say, 35%). Do you realize how many websites that you can have your products on using this method? There are many Internet business owners that simply sell other people’s products (we call these Super Affiliates). This way, you sell more products and increase website traffic absolutely free of cost! You do have to promote your affiliate program and product, which brings us to the next method, which is….
8. Get A ClickBank Account: Clickbank is the largest product directory on the Internet today. Additionally, Clickbank will set up and manage your affiliate program for you. They will also manage sales and any returns. You don’t do a thing! Both your product and affiliate program are listed in the Clickbank directory. People looking for the product you offer find your website and wham! You’ve just taken a major step toward getting an immediate increase in website traffic! And, it only takes 5 minutes to sign up!
9. Joint Venture: You can team up with a company that sells similar or complementary products and services. Your website link is then advertised on that company’s site and vice versa. This results in directing traffic from their site to yours. All you have to do is contact the company that you are interested in via email, with a proposal. This technique works amazingly well. You increase website traffic, and most importantly, it is both relevant and targeted, increasing your ability to make a sale!
10. Use Ebay: Stop passing up Ebay! Ebay is less intimidating than it looks, and it is easy for beginners to get started. In fact, Ebay was practically made for the Internet business owner who wants to increase website traffic. You can set up an Ebay store, of course linking back to your website. Including clever sales copy and pictures of your products/services increases your chances of customers clicking through and making a purchase.
You can sell ANYTHING on eBay – this is no exaggeration. Go to ebay.com and you’ll see what I’m talking about!

Free search engine submit

The simple fact of the matter is, nobody really knows if free search engine submission hurts your search engine rankings or not. There is a lot of speculation out there that the search engines will not put much weight in the submissions, particularly if they are coming from a free search engine submission service or perhaps using a software program. There is also some direct word from Google that they do not like some of the automated systems that are used, so many people tend to stay away from them altogether.
Another consideration for generating free search engine traffic is to write and organize your web content around certain keywords that are relevant to your niche market. This is important because you only want to rank for keywords that your target market can relate to. Also, if you write web content around a group of keywords that have the same theme or target, you can greatly improve the overall ranking and performance of that website within Google.
Free search engine traffic results form the intense promotion of your website.
It requires time, effort and long-term planning in order to get top rankings for a page. Sometimes it is pretty easy to get overwhelmed by all the tips and tutorials you find on different sites that assist individuals and companies with their development. You don’t have to implement all the strategies possible overnight, it is essential to prioritize and make improvements progressively.
This is probably the single most important factor in telling the search engines what your site is about. The title tag is one of the meta-tags found within the ‘head’ section of every web page’s source code. It does not appear directly on your web page itself, but is the main heading representing your site which people see in the list of search engine results when they carry out a search.
The most important tag is the Title tag, because it is in the head section of your website and many search engines use it. Title tag should be short (about 14 words), descriptive and to the point. The title is appeared on first line in the search engines. When optimizing your website always use keyword in the meta tags which are reflected in your page. It is not going to help your search engine ranking if the page has nothing to do with the topic.
To start, there are hundreds of search engines with seven of them being major players of which just three are actually searched in any significant way. Only Google, Yahoo and MSN will find your site through the process of crawling links from other sites. What’s more, by simply submitting your site it will not mean that it enters the index or is updated quicker.
Submit your article to as many directories as you have the time. Before you do, type your article name, in quotes, into the big search engines. Create a title for your article that no one else has used before so that there are ‘no results’ when you type the title in.
That way you can track the propagation of your article. Every week or so, type in the name of your article and the search engine will tell you how many sites are hosting it.
Now, there’s nothing wrong with replicated websites. There are benefits of having large numbers of people promoting the same site. It helps brand the company image and when people come across the same website over and over again, it creates familiarity. It’s just that replicated website are simply NOT very search-engine-friendly.

Online Business – Web Copy For SEO And Submitting To Search Engines

The search engines will scan the text on a Web page to see if your site is relevant to the search term. That means that in effect, your Web copy is going to have to do two things: to persuade a customer to buy, and persuade a search engine it’s relevant.
When you write your copy aim for about 500 words a page, but throw in between four and eight keywords. You’ll have to try to balance a smooth text flow with getting in all the keywords you need to be listed.
You can also consider adding text-only pages such as how-to articles, tips or tutorials to your site. Throw in some keywords and they can turn up in search engines and create opportunities for link exchanges.
So there’s a few ways you can try to improve the position of your site in a search engine. More important than where you put the keywords is choosing the right keywords. That’s not really a huge challenge as your competitors are likely to have done the job for you.
Of course, even if you do get everything right, it doesn’t mean you’re going to shoot straight to the top of Google. One of the criteria for relevancy is how long you’ve been online, so success on the search engines won’t come overnight. The sooner you start submitting though, the sooner you can start to rise.
Submitting to Search Engines
Submitting sites to search engines is much easier than submitting them to directories or pay-per-clicks. In fact, you only have to submit the home page.
The search engine’s ‘spider’–a neat little software program–will then follow all the links from the home page and include your other pages. Spidering actually increases your relevancy score more than hand-submitting your internal pages yourself.
The disadvantage of spidering is that it can be slow. Google has the best spider but even they can take up to a month to index all your pages. For other search engines you can wait three times as long.
